Inside the Game: Broncos Siemian goes deep over Chiefs to Fowler for TD

Aside from the way the Denver Broncos lost in heart-wrenching fashion to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night in overtime 30-27, second-year quarterback Trevor Siemian had arguably one of the best performances of 2016, and thus his career.
Siemian managed a quarterback rating of 125.6 — the second-highest mark of his career in a game in which he played a majority of the snaps — along with 20 completions on 34 attempts for 368 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
But in particular, Siemian connected on the deep ball several times, including touchdowns to Emmanuel Sanders and Bennie Fowler of 35 yards and 76 yards respectively.
After the game, Siemian said going after the Chiefs secondary in that way was part of a plan to counteract the unit’s aggressive play.
“I think so. They’re an aggressive group, Kansas City. Sometimes you’ve got to go stretch the field and let your guys make plays, and I thought those guys stepped up big time and made some big plays for us.”
