Renck: Broncos win against Texans felt like ‘reboot’

First, it was an embarrassing loss to the Atlanta Falcons two weeks ago, followed by the hospitalization of head coach Gary Kubiak due to a complex migraine.
Then, it a second loss, this time on a short week to AFC West foe San Diego.
And finally, it was answering questions on back-to-back losses, coupled with question after question on the return of former Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler to Denver.
A long two weeks for the Denver Broncos culminated in a much-needed win, not only to keep pace with its division rivals but to perhaps push the reset button on a season that had fallen off the rails a bit from it’s promising 4-0 start.
On with 104.3 The Fan’s “The Drive” Tuesday, Denver 7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck said he felt like Monday’s 27-9 win over the Houston Texans felt like a “reboot” for Denver.
“It just looked like a team that had been reminded that you didn’t win this championship last year based on talent alone,” Renck said.
It was a night that saw Demaryius Thomas “jawing with a defender,” Renck said, and C.J. Anderson “running with purpose and veracity.” Denver rolled up its sleeves and grinded it out.
“That’s why last night, for me, was more significant. Not that they won — I fully expected them to win. They did it in a fashion that was impressive,” Renck said. “They punched Houston in the mouth and told them, ‘You’re not going to win this game.’”
Renck and “The Drive” co-host DMac agreed the turnaround for the Broncos on a slightly shortened week to face the San Diego Chargers might actually work out in Denver’s favor.
“I think this turnaround is terrific. I think it totally works to the Broncos advantage,” DMac said.
“… I think it’s exciting to be able to get to the Chargers right away, and I think this team is set up to do so.
