The man who fell to his death from a Sports Authority Field at Mile High stairwell railing during Monday’s Denver Broncos game with the Houston Texans has been identified.
In a release Tuesday, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said 36-year-old Jason Coy died from blunt force injuries related to the incident.
An initial investigation into the incident indicates Coy was sitting on the railing and fell approximately 60 feet, suffering serious injuries, according to a release from Denver police.

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, the Denver Broncos organization said it was “extremely saddened” to learn of Coy’s death and, along with Stadium Management Company, extended its “deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and friends.”
The Broncos maintained that providing a “safe, enjoyable environment” for fans remained a top priority for the club and SMC.
“We’re reviewing this tragic incident and will continue to maintain all necessary safety measures for our fans.”
