Nothing but ‘love’ from Broncos players to Brock after win

After a week leading up to the Denver’s Monday Night Football tilt with the Houston Texans filled with talk of taking down Brock Osweiler, largely from fans but also inside the locker room, Broncos player had nothing but love for their former quarterback.
Denver’s defense handed Osweiler and the Texans a lopsided 27-9 loss, with the gunslinger being holstered to just 131 yards on 22-of-41 passing, a fumble, and no touchdowns.
But after the game, head coach Gary Kubiak said that his team “thinks the world” of Osweiler and wishes him success down the road.
“This team thinks the world of him. These guys were in the same locker room with him for a long time. They won a championship with him,” Kubiak said. “That’s part of football. There were other players on that field that’s played for this team or that team. It’s kind of part of the game.”
Linebacker Von Miller, who met up with Osweiler at midfield after the game to shake hands and speak, said after the game he and Brock were “good.”
“I love the big guy. I wish him the best. I want to see him be the type of quarterback that we all know he can be.” Miller said. “There’s nothing but positive vibes between me and Brock.”
Even safety T.J. Ward called the Brock talk all week hype, saying motivation to beat Osweiler was the “furthest thing” on the team’s mind.
“We’re trying to win ballgames. That’s it. I don’t care who’s on the other side that are here 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, a day,” Ward said. “This is the team we have. This is the team we’re trying to win with. That’s all that matters.”
After the game, Osweiler echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “There was so much that was built up about myself and the Broncos and this game. At the end of the day, it was the Houston Texans versus the Denver Broncos. We came up here tonight, and we did not play a good enough football game to get this job done.”
Compared with Osweiler, who signed a four-year, $72 million deal with Houston in the offseason, second-year Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian finished with 26 more yards and a touchdown on 14-of-25 passing.
