No fire up for Bronco football today as The Drive continues game planning for Monday Night’s affair between the Broncos and Houston Texans. The fellas are joined by Tyler Polumbus and Steve Young, both conversations had a “leadership” theme, the Broncos lack it this season and we’re trying to get to the bottom of that problem. We hear from Coach Kubiak and Rick Dennison from earlier.
The Drive LIVE with Big Al and DMac in studio as the Broncos continue preparations for Monday night’s match up with the Houston Texans. Starting Left Tackle Russell Okung has been cleared from the concussion protocol and is expected to start. Alfred says he needs his “big time players” to make “big time plays” and has some advice for Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas. The Big Three at 3:30 brings up Josh Brown being put on the NFL’s Commissioner’s Exempt List, Jadaveon Clowney and how his career has went so far and the NBA and the National Anthem. Tyler Polumbus joins the show to drop some knowledge on us when it comes to leadership in this Broncos locker room, now that Peyton Manning has retired. Tyler also let’s us know the difference between a veteran Quarterback and a young Quarterback when it comes to presence in the huddle. Catch that interview with Tyler HERE!
Football at Four gets going with Steve Young joining the show to talk about the leadership in the 49ers Locker Room as it seems the Broncos are lacking in leadership at the moment. Steve also gives us his thoughts on whether or not the Broncos have dodged a major bullet by missing out on the Brock Osweiler sweepstakes. Steve will be at the Tattered Cover Book Store on Monday signing his book from noon-2pm. Listen to that conversation with Steve HERE!
The third and final hour of The Drive underway with comments made earlier by Broncos Offensive Coordinator Rick Dennison, who got a little testy when asked about the Offensive Line. We also hear from Gary Kubiak on getting off to a faster start in games on the offensive side of the ball. The Closing Bell rings on the Broncos chances of winning on Monday and the CU Buffs against Stanford this weekend as trending up. Trending down is Ricky Vaughn throwing out the first pitch of the Cleveland Indian’s World Series appearance and BYU went for a fake Punt on their own 5.
