Matt says dragging night crawlers, leaches, and anything you want behind the boat is currently working, and how to transition from a night bite to a day bite for walleye. Big fish can be vulnerable in the Spring, and want to regain the energy they lost in the spawn. Also, moving to a jig or drop-shot, and what’s going on at Quincy with bass on moving baits.

Bill Willcox of Lake John Resort joins the show to talk about the big fish available when cruising the shore line and all the boat ramps being open & everything being ready to go. Bill says Delaneys did well all winter, and highlights techniques that seem to be working, including simply throwing hardware.
Bernie Keefe of Fishing with Bernie gives Terry an update on the Granby area. Boating is open and the ice is free, and Bernie says the fishing is downright good. Granby is known for it’s lake trout, and Bernie highlights when you can see some luck with fat and feisty browns & rainbows. Working a crank bait shallow can be successful when dealing with weather, and Bernie says it’s good to slow down your movement once you find fish. Use tube jigs for the smaller fish, and a minimal presentation can be used with aggressive jigging. Also, Terry tells Bernie about the three famous taps you’ll hear when walleye or salmon fishing.
Michelle Seubert of Colorado Parks & Wildlife joins Terry to discuss the Barr Lake Spring fishing clinic. Michelle highlights when to use your kicker or electric motor, and what you can do if you like fishing for carp. The eagles at Barr have hatched, and Michelle talks about the tours available to see the eagles in a golf cart. Terry highlights the brand new visitor center, and Michelle talks about the wildlife refuge & Earth Day tepee dedication.
Lauren Stanford with Colorado Parks & Wildlife discusses camping opportunities at Golden Gate State Park with Terry. Both Terry & Lauren agree Golden Gate is a whole other place, and Lauren highlights the opportunities for rainbow trout fishing. Lauren tells Terry what ponds are stocked with sun-fish and when they stock for the season. Facilities are available for the kids, and it’s all about having a good time. Also, Lauren laughs about the Moose that likes to hang out by the road, and traditional camp sites designated for RV’s & tents, as well as rock climbing availability.
Tyler Baskfield of Trout Unlimited joins the show to talk about the big victory for the sportsman’s conservation program.
